The chosen repertoire has a special meaning: decades ago, the founding members of the Quartet worked together with Dimitri Shostakovich, who personally supervised the study of each of his works.
During the first concert offered at the Festival, the Quartet once again proved its artistic value through a masterful performance of the repertoire that brought it world fame. The Borodin Quartet played Shostakovich's works all over the world, on the stages of Vienna, Zurich, Frankfurt, Madrid, Lisbon, Seville, London, Paris, New York and now, Sibiu.
