ORCHESTRA ENESCU is the symphony orchestra of the Foundation. The Orchestra is based on the close collaboration between the best international artists, members of the top European ensembles and the most talented young Romanian musicians, as well as their older, established colleagues.
At its debut in April 2012, at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, the Orchestra welcomed as guests principal musicians from the London Symphony, the BBC London Orchestra, Tonhalle Zurich and l'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
The mission and activities of the ORCHESTRA ENESCU are an homage to the inspiring personality and to the legacy of George Enescu, universally admired by his contemporaries as one of the greatest musical geniuses of the 20th century. We are dedicated to promoting his creation and name and endeavor to present to the public a wide variety of performances of the highest artistic quality, in collaboration with the best artists of the world.
