MOZART KAMMERPHILHARMONIE

Resident orchestra of the Sibiu /Hermannstadt International Music Festival 2014

The chamber orchestra  MOZART KAMMERPHILHARMONIE  is the resident orchestra of the Sibiu/Hermannstadt International Music Festival. The orchestra had a most successful debut at the gala concert which launched the Festival in May 2013, with Mozart’s Symphony in C, K.551 “Jupiter”, under the baton of Christian Badea.

The ensemble is a reflection of the cultural tradition of the city of Sibiu and its old historic ties with Vienna at the time of Samuel von Brukenthal – a pivotal figure in both cities in the 18th century. Dedicated primarily to the music of the great Viennese composers Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Beethoven, MOZART KAMMERPHILHARMONIE is composed of young musicians form several countries, besides Romania, as well as prominent artists from major European orchestras.
