Sibiu, on new musical peaks

The Sibiu/Hermannstadt International Music Festival placed Sibiu together with the world's greatest concert halls. The Borodin Quartet, Giuliano Carmignola, Mario Caroli, Tamás Varga, Christian Badea, Sebastian Hamann, Martin Owen, Rodrigo Puskás, some of the world's most valuable musicians at the moment, offered a performing feast together with exquisite young musicians. more

Vlad Maistorovici, the young guest composer of the Festival, opened the series of chamber concerts with five own works, gathered under the title of "Nocturnal Music". Vlad performed two other concerts as a master of violin. more

The Borodin Quartet, for the first time in Romania, only at the Sibiu/Hermannstadt International Music Festival

The Borodin Quartet received standing ovations at the first concert in Romania during the almost 70 years of existence of the ensemble. Ruben Agaronian (first violin), Serghei Lomovski (second violin), Igor Naidin (viola) and Vladimir Balşin (cello) offered a world class performance of Quartet no. 9 by Beethoven and of Quartets no. 7 and 9 by Dimitri Shostakovich, at the Festive Hall of the Sibiu ASTRA Library, within the Sibiu/Hermannstadt International Music Festival. more
