Just finishing a tour of Japan with the Tonhalle Orchestra, George Cosmin Bănică will join the Festival as a guest concertmaster of the Mozart Kammerphilharmonie. A graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest and of the Hochschule fur Musik in Koln, George Cosmin Bănică won several important prizes in the “George Enescu” and “Tibor Varga” international competitions and was featured as a soloist of orchestras such as Tonhalle Zurich, Bern, “George Enescu” Philharmonic and the National Radio Orchestra in Bucharest. He is a concertmaster of the prestigious Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich and an enthusiast of chamber music, collaborating with world class artists such as Radu Lupu and Julia Fischer.
